BiscuitSweet Biscuit Nichols took his freedom run over Rainbow Bridge on Monday January 28, 2019. Even though he was 11 years old he loved to chase his brother BooBoo kitty and the neighborhood squirrels. He liked late nights in the backyard telling the neighbors dogs to stay on their side of the fence! He was a noisy, vocal little guy. He liked the noise his tags made while drinking from his metal water bowl. His favorite place was next to his moms legs on the recliner with just a smidge of the blanket on him. He was very loved. He was a SWAT dog but he knew he really belonged to Marti Nichols. He’s survived by his mom Marti, former SWAT momma Joan, his fur brothers Duncan and Boo Boo kitty and one of his favorite people Emily from Atomic Dog Salon. Senior dogs love you with their whole heart—and leave footprints when they leave. Rhedd was chained to his front porch for 3 years before his family decided he was too much trouble and took him to the shelter. He spent several weeks until they discovered that he had heart worms and was scheduled to be euthanized. That sweet boy would jump up on the side his cage to greet me every time I walked by. When I saw him loaded in the back of the truck, there was only one thing I could do. Rhedd was a precious part of our pack for 8 wonderful years. He was old, blind and still as full of love. We miss him everyday. Gracie was a rescued breeder dog. She has spent her first 4 years in a cage with little socialization. Her puppies (16 in the last litter) all died and she was kicked to the curb. It took her a few years before she was comfortable meeting new people but she turned in to a little social butterfly. She loved everyone and was the greeter when a new dog or cat was fostered. She danced herself right into our hearts. She died of cancer at age 11...too soon; she is missed. Sometimes our fur babies are with us for years, sometimes only for a short time. Enu rescued us April 2016 when he jumped straight onto my sons lap and gave us a big goofy smile. Even though his life was short, our memories with him will last us a lifetime. |
