'Mama Always Said, Life Was Like a Box of Chocolates. You Never Know What You're Gonna Get.' ~Forrest Gump
I've been that box of chocolates with SWAT. When they found me on the end of a chain, they knew it was time to get me out of there. I had a friend giving me food and water but oh wow, the nights were getting cold. I was one of the several dogs and cats that were left behind when our person went to a nursing home. I was the last to leave because, well, there was just nowhere for me to go and I barked, growled and acted really scary when SWAT would come to bring me stuff. Hey, I was scared and I didn't know these people! My world had been turned upside down and they kept coming and making my friends disappear. It was freaking me out. hey were expecting grouchy dog; yeah, so not me. I get along with everything but they haven't let me buddy up to the chickens or cat so the jury's out on that. I used to be a house dog before I was kicked outside and I let them know that by crawling up on the couch and flipping for a "good girl" belly rub. I don't potty in the house and once I learned the dog doors, they don't even have to know I'm going out. I have my own bed that I sleep on because apparently the beds around here are off limits. I walk really well on a leash but I'm pretty good off leash too. I don't get too far from my new human and come back when she calls me. There are a lot of rules but I'm pretty smart and already knew some words when I got here. SWAT said I had been "bred to death," well, obviously THAT is not true but I have had a few too many litters, like all of them. I will be out of the baby making business next week. After that, I'm going to start saving for a reduction mammaplasty (that's a boob job) I'm kind of in need. My mama was a German Shorthaired Pointer, daddy was a Pit. I'm about 2-3 years old, still play like a puppy. I'm a big girl but now that I'm getting more exercise, I'm losing a little weight. Let's call it 65 lbs. I've had a hard life but those days are over. I'm ready to move in, settle down and make someone their best friend EVER!
