My name is Bowie, you've seen me before, a couple of times actually. I have had quite a journey finding my way back to SWAT's "Adoptable Pets" album. When SWAT took me in the first time, I had lived my entire life at the end of a chain. My only entertainment was eating and chasing, killing squirrels and cats, and I was good at it. My family decided after a couple of years that they no longe r wanted me so I became a SWAT dog. I was pretty undisciplined and they called me "hard to place" but I DID find a place. It maybe wasn't ideal, a Heeler in an apartment but it worked for me and my new mom; she love me, I loved her...MAGIC! Then life happened as it often does and she had to give me up. In January, I became a SWAT dog again. I had gotten better at walking on a leash but I still didn't have much going for me in the Awesome Family Pet department. My young friend, Melissa, stepped up and offered to work with me. I left in February to live with Melissa and her family and soon the training began. Four months later, she tells me it's time to start looking for my own family; so here I am. I am a handsome, 4 year old Australian Cattle Dog. I love squeaky toys and belly rubs. I am house trained and now I have what they call "basic manners." I walk really well on a leash, I sniff cats but I don't try to eat them. I would do better as an only dog because although girl dogs aren't a problem, I like to be boss when it comes to ANY dog and other males really get me growlin'! I love kids and all adults. I know not to get on the furniture and I'm crate trained. I am not a barker but I will let you know if something doesn't seem quite right inside or out. I am, of course, neutered and up to date on all my shots. For the right family, my adoption fee is only $50.
