I don't really remember having a family who cared about me. No one ever took the time to teach me anything like sit, potty outside only, lay down, shake, don't jump...you know, all of those fun things family dogs get to learn. Once I got out and got lost, I decided I really didn't want to go back to that home so I searched for something else. I thought I had found it, just in time for Christmas! I t was dark out when they loaded me up into the car. I thought we were going out as a family to celebrate me finding them and adopting them as my own. That wasn't the case. The car stopped, they pulled me out and tossed me into a pen. They draped a sheet over the dog house and dumped food into the dirt. They shut the gate, ran back to the car and drove away. It was freezing out. Why would they leave me out there? I figured they would come right back for me so I jumped onto the top of the dog house, onto my sheet, and stared at the road, waiting. It wasn't long before someone else found me and opened the door for me to come inside. It was a little scary, but I walked in since it was warmer. She wrapped me in blankets and gave me a bed. That was better than waiting outside. Once morning came, the lady came back. Long story short, the "family" I thought I loved wasn't coming back and I learned I was now a SWAT dog. I even have a name. It's Zigler, Ziggy, Zig, Good Boy, No-No....really, just call me Zig for short. A week after being dumped, I started not feeling well at all. Sometimes the little light at the end of the tunnel grew and grew...until I decided this life wasn't over yet. I'm here for a purpose. I spent a week in bed, giving the humans around here quite a scare. Now I'm feeling like me again. I'm playful, happy, always hungry and ready to take on the world. SWAT says I'm right at a year old. I'm skinny now since being sick, but I'm gaining it all back. I should be around 55-60lbs on a good day. I get along with everyone, but I do play really rough. If I could have dogs my size that are just as playful, that would be great! I would also like a soft bed, plenty of toys and lots of lovins. Can I adopt you?
