They call me Reece..I'm a SWAT dog and I am sure happy to be one. I lived out in the country with a big dog and several little dogs. My human packed up all the little dogs, opened the gate and drove away. Ramsey and I thought he would be coming back to feed us but he never did. We heard him at the front door once, but he just loaded some stuff in his truck and drove off...didn't even look at us. We decided we'd better get someone's attention because it was very hot and we were very hungry. The neighbor came over to see what all the ruckus was about and saw how skinny we had gotten. He started throwing food over the fence to us...but he had his own mouths to feed. He called the police who came and checked on us, then called SWAT to pick us up. Like I said, we were HAPPY to go. We have been living with a foster, getting fattened up and learning some manners. I am not quite a year old, very friendly, playful and ready to find my real home. SWAT got me out of the baby making business and gave me a good scrubby bath and got rid of all the critters. All that is left is someone to love. If that's you, give SWAT a call (918) 605-6516, we can talk.
A note from Foster Mom Reece's story was published a few weeks ago. She was picked up with Ramsey after being abandoned and starved by her family on Cole-Strang Road. The Mayes Co. Sheriff's office has their name and we are hoping that they will remind them that it's NOT OK to abandon your pets. Reece was pregnant and sick, Ramsey was emaciated. Ramsey found a family to love and went home. SWAT had Reece spayed because Ramsey was the obvious father of her babies and he was far too big to let her have a healthy pregnancy. Here's what I want you to know about Reece. She is the most loving, sweetest soul, still willing to love and trust. She loves the other dogs and is often the instigator in them getting in trouble for roughhousing. She couldn't care less about Quincy, the cat, and doesn't chase the chickens. She sits back and waits for the other pups to finish their food before moving in to clean up any possible leftovers. She snores. She snuggles up to watch TV and is an awesome pillow during those cold afternoon naps. She's smart...a little one on one time with her and she has a new trick to show off. Looking at her, you might think..."Oh, another black dog." She's anything but...
