Hi, my name's Blackie..a bit of a cliche' you say? Well, my whole life is a bit of a cliche'. I was taken home as a puppy...a cute little rolly, polly black dog, playful, friendly, handsome. I am also a Pit/Lab mix, more cliche'; more chance that things were not going to work out well for me. I was never allowed in the house as a puppy, but they fed me. There was even a kid that I grew very fo nd of that would come out and play with me. Then, the summer I turned one, the boy went away and the other people in the house quit coming out...they quit giving me water and they quit feeding me. I hung out for awhile but had to go find some food. I ran into a pack of Coyotes that weren't very nice to me but the worse that happened on my journey for food is that I got this nasty, itchy stuff called manage. I came back to the place that I knew as home and they shooed me away. A kind neighbor took pitty on me and would throw left-overs to me. She also saw the shape I was in and brought some medicine from the vet to kill the mange. That's when she called SWAT and brought me to the Love Shack. I stayed there for a few days, got lots more medicine and then moved to the BIG house. No kidding man, I have foster brothers and sisters that love me (the fur kind that includes a cat! Who knew one of my good friends would be a CAT!), I also have a foster mom and dad that feed me, bathe me, brush me and STILL think I'm handsome. I get to sleep inside at night, and I go for walks and I'm learning manners. I went to the vet and she snipped, snipped, and gave me a clean bill of health. I am ready to move on to forever...and this time, the cliche' will be THE BEST DOG EVER!"
