El'lo Mate, me name is Lily. I'm a 4 years old red merle Australian Shepherd /Border Collie mix (in case you were wondering about the accent). Thankfully, I hid my tail when they came at me with the hattchet...so now it's long, gorgeous and makes me twice a big (which means 2 times more to love). I come from working folks...me mama and papa were both working farm dogs. I, however, am better suit ed at air conditioning and couch life.
So, with all that to love, I bet you're wondering why I'm up for adoption. Well, it was a misunderstanding really. There is a 2 year old in my house...and I meant to think to meself....grrrr, this kid drives me crazy...but instead I actually said it...and mom heard it. Apparently that kid is more important than me...and she doesn't even have a tail! So, since I'm here, looking for my forever, let me just say, I don't mind cats, I'd probably do way well with a male, or less dominate female playmate, kids make me say things I shouldn't...so let's just say I'd love to have an older human sibling that I could play with instead of walking on eggshells around.  This from Lily's current family: Lily really is a sweet, wonderful, amazing dog. She had a very rough start. When we got both her and her sister as 8 week old puppies they were both covered in 50+ ticks, and Lily had open wounds all over her face with significant swelling of her muzzle and throat. After multiple vet visits and several weeks of medication, we found out she had puppy strangles. She recovered fully and has just been our little miracle dog ever since. She loves attention, playing with toys, running around our fenced-in backyard and going for walks. She would definitely be a lap dog if we let her!
The home we are looking for would keep her as an indoor dog but have a big yard (preferably fenced) that she would be able to move freely in without being chained up as she loves to run. It would also have no small children and would have owners that believe they would be able to keep her permanently. We will request references (preferably veterinary) and a home visit. We are also requesting a $25 rehoming fee, but she will come with her things. She is spayed, microchipped, current on all her shots including rabies (last round of shots was November of 2014), current on heartworm medication and gets flea/tick treatment every month (neither found on her since we got her as a puppy).
