What's a Limerick? Well, I'm Limerick. I arrived at SWAT late one night last week. I had been hanging around someone's pasture for three weeks, just hoping they would toss some food my way. They never did, but I didn't give up trying. After three weeks of begging, someone showed up to the house and saw I was hungry and hot. They called SWAT and here I am. I'm a Heeler mix; mixed with what, I can't say. I like to call myself Mr. Heartthrob because, well, look at my face. You c an't resist! I'm only a year old and weigh around 30lbs. I said good bye to all of the icky ticks and itchy fleas, thanks to SWAT. I love to snuggle and hug my humans. I enjoy playing outside in the sun with the other dogs and I'm learning how to play fetch. I am completely housebroken, I walk really well on a leash...I'm an all-around great dog. I would love other dogs and kids in my forever home. A big, fenced yard would be awesome too. Think we're meant for each other? Fill out an adoption application if you think we are meant to be! www.savingwhiskersandtails.org

Note from Limerick’s foster mom:
Feeling loved has never been a hard task with Larry. I’ll have to admit he’s definitely an attention seeker and he’ll show you that through constant kisses and cuddles. When he doesn’t feel as though your loving him back he’ll stretch his arm out and tap you with his paw until he feels loved back. Yes he does have his his “lovey dovey” moments but above his heart is his energy. Larry has got to be one of the fastest dogs I’ve seen and his legs  always try to support him in that but sometimes his mind is going faster than his legs will carry him and he does a 360 tumble. The good news about Larry’s speed is that he listens extremely well to his name so doesn’t necessarily need a fence. What he does need though are livestock to work with because my neighbor gets a little upset when he tries to run their cattle. He could do without the livestock but he does need space to run off his energy. Larry is well known by my neighbors and loves to go visit them and their families when I say it’s okay to go under the fence. He loves car rides to the farm store where they give him biscuits too. You have to be careful on this though because Larry is shedding his coat for the summer and his hair will fly into your mouth if the windows are down! At the end of the day when it’s time for bed Larry goes right into his wire crate without any trouble and will sometimes even open the door to the crate when I’m not ready for bed yet but he is. He enjoys the comfort of his crate and also loves when his foster sister gets to sleep with him for fun. Larry was just recently neutered but that has no effect on his over all personality. He’s an all around dog and I promise that anyone would be lucky enough to have this sweet guy.
